NextGen ADS-B Compliance

The GTX 345R provides a seamless path to satisfy NextGen requirements with 1090 MHz ADS-B “Out” capability, enabling aircraft to operate at any altitude in global airspace. This all-solid-state remote-mount transponder offers lower power consumption and enhanced reliability compared to earlier technology, automatically outputting precise, dynamic traffic surveillance data.

Comprehensive ADS-B “In” Benefits

Unlock subscription-free weather and advanced traffic services including NEXRAD imagery, METARs, TAFs, and more. The dual-link receiver monitors both 978 MHz and 1090 MHz frequencies to provide a complete traffic picture, featuring spoken audio alerts and Garmin’s patented TargetTrend relative motion display to help pilots judge target trajectories and closure rates.

Flexible WAAS Integration

To meet the precise GPS reference requirements for ADS-B, the GTX 345R can interface with an existing WAAS/SBAS-compliant navigation system or utilize an optional built-in WAAS GPS position source. This flexibility ensures a minimally intrusive installation regardless of your aircraft's current equipment configuration.

Wireless Cockpit Connectivity

Using Garmin Connext, the GTX 345R wirelessly streams weather, traffic, GPS position, and backup attitude data to mobile devices and portables. It supports up to two simultaneous connections for apps like Garmin Pilot and ForeFlight Mobile, as well as the aera 795/796 and aera 660 series portables.

Integrated Flight Deck Control

Designed to integrate with a variety of Garmin cockpit displays including the G1000 and GTN 750/650 series, the GTX 345R allows for onscreen squawk code entry and control. On compatible systems, it can display ADS-B traffic and weather directly on the MFD and PFD, including TerminalTraffic for a comprehensive picture of the airport environment.

Simplified Maintenance and Alerting

The unit features a built-in audio output for traffic and altitude alerts and can be paired with an optional altitude encoder that mounts separately on the install rack. This design allows the transponder to be removed without disconnecting static lines, eliminating the need for follow-on leak checks and reducing ongoing service costs.
