Gain Traffic and Save Space
The GTX 33D is an IFR-certified, remote-mounted Mode S digital transponder designed to integrate seamlessly with GTN series avionics and a wide range of displays. Its all solid-state design ensures lower power consumption and reduced heat emissions while delivering 250 watts of nominal power output.
Enhanced Traffic Surveillance
This unit features a Traffic Information Services (TIS-A) interface and altitude monitor with voice alerts, allowing pilots to see the same radar traffic as ATC controllers. The GTX 33D version specifically includes an antenna diversity option, providing improved air-to-air surveillance of TCAS-equipped aircraft flying above the vehicle.
ADS-B Compliance Pathway
Available with an optional Extended Squitter (ES) upgrade, the GTX 33D provides an affordable pathway to ADS-B compliance. This technology uses precise GPS-referenced positioning to automatically transmit accurate surveillance data, including flight ID, position, altitude, velocity, and heading information.
Seamless Integration
The remote-mounted design allows for a cleaner cockpit by moving the hardware out of the panel. Traffic data and transponder code selection are managed through Garmin’s integrated GPS/Comm/Nav systems, such as the G1000, GNS 480, or CNX 80.
