The GTN 650Xi system is a premier GPS/Nav/Comm/MFD platform, offering enhanced processing power, speed, and graphical capabilities. Its high-resolution 4.9” touchscreen display, with nearly double the pixel count of its predecessor, provides wider viewing angles and faster map rendering for an intuitive user experience.
Comprehensive Navigation & Flight Planning
Visualize your entire flight plan with graphical routing, including departures, arrivals, and approaches. The WAAS/SBAS-certified GPS receiver enables LPV glidepath approaches. Features like FastFind, "Rubber Band" Reroutes, and support for Victor airways simplify IFR routings and flight plan adjustments.
Integrated Comm & Nav Radios
A 2,280-channel capable VHF Comm radio offers 10 watts (optional 16 watts) of power with pilot-selectable 25 kHz or 8.33 kHz spacing. Full VHF navigation capabilities provide VOR/ILS with localizer and glideslope. Work-saving functions allow quick lookup and recall of frequencies, including emergency frequency access.
Smart Glide Emergency Assistance
In the event of an engine power loss, Smart Glide technology helps reduce pilot workload by recommending suitable airports within glide range, creating a Direct-to route, and automatically engaging a compatible Garmin autopilot at best glide speed. It also provides critical airport information and emergency frequency loading.
Advanced Situational Awareness
Built-in terrain, mapping, and obstacle databases provide detailed surface features and color-coded alerts for potential conflicts. Optional HTAWS offers audible alerting and five-color map shading for terrain, obstacles, and wires, with voice callouts on descent below 500’. When paired with a GRA™ 55 radar altimeter, it tracks terrain clearance down to 50’ AGL.
Connected Cockpit & Data Links
Integrate with Garmin ADS-B “In” solutions for display of up to 60 traffic targets and subscription-free U.S. weather. Optional Connext technology enables wireless streaming of information, flight plan transfers, and database uploads via Database Concierge with Flight Stream 510 to compatible Garmin portables or mobile devices.
