Digital Remote-Mount DME Radio
The GDM 4500 is a digital remote-mount DME radio designed for high-performance turbine aircraft and helicopters. It works with select Garmin integrated flight decks to provide slant-range distance measurements relative to DME ground stations.
Automatic Tuning and Multichannel
Automatically tunes DME channels based on the selected NAV radio frequency. Multichannel operation supports up to 5 DME channels with compatible avionics. Free scan capability searches for DME stations within range.
DME-DME Navigation
DME-DME RNAV support determines aircraft position using distances from multiple ground stations, providing an alternative navigation source independent of GPS. DME hold capability maintains distance indication when tuning to different frequencies.
